Gospel Is Spreading Quickly Throughout Angola and Close To Opening First Ever Chapel in The Country

A chapel in Angola is about to have its first chapel be built and even more members are receiving temple blessings.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has grown very fast in Angola, as the members can’t wait for the African country’s first meeting house to be open soon.

“We waited for more than 20 years. It’s very important for us. We are excited about it,” Nuno A. Campos Luanda Angola Stake President.

Before the meeting place was in the process of being built the members would normally meet in rented or borrowed buildings. The ground was struck for the stake center in Luanda last summer in July and is almost complete.

The members and missionaries have planned to invite many people from the community as well as from other faiths to come and visit the building.

President Campos who is serving as the stake president for over a year believes the stake should be split soon because of the amount of growth inside the country.

On December 31, 2021 there was a grand total of 4,160 members that have joined the church which was a near 300% increase over the last 10 years.

There is now based on the Church of Jesus Christ website 4,760 members in Angola.

People are starting to recognize that the gospel of Jesus Christ can make a huge difference in their own life, President Campos said.

“Angola is a country that loves the gospel. … Something we would like to pass on to the world is that the Church has great potential here.”

The Church members have been working very hard and are very humble about the service they have been doing.

“We know it is voluntary work, but there is a deep love. People do the best they can, but we noticed that they really want to do what is their best,” said President Campos.
